Items Removed or Added: The U.S. Marshal's reserve the right to add or remove any vehicles prior to an auction. Please check the website for any changes.
Registration: There is no Buyer Registration. If buyer wins bid he will give a Drivers License to verify winnning bid.
Payment: Purchases will require a deposit immediately. Cash, Personal Check and Cashiers Check will be accepted as a form of deposit. Check must be payable to "Downtown Motorcar Sales" . Each lot is considered a purchase. Payment must be completed by 4:00 on the following Monday of the auction date.
ONLY TYPE OF FINAL PAYMENT ACCEPTED IS A CASHIERS CHECK OR CASH. NO CREDIT CARDS! PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED AS A FORM OF DEPOSIT.
Certified Checks with authorizing signatures are accepted day of the sale and for final payment. Checks must be in the form of a Bank drawn check with an authorizing signature, U.S. Funds.

Release: Release of vehicles will be until 4:00pm the day of the sale and the Monday from 9:00 am to 4:00pm.
Written Bid: Written bids need to be sent (4) days before the auction date with a description of lot and a bank check for the full bid price. Car Registration: All cars that are to be registered in Minnesota, can be registered at any DMV in Minnesota. Cars marked with a Salvage/Flood Title may require additional paperwork from DMV. The paperwork and any fees that apply are the responsibility of the buyer.

As you get off the ramp for the exit you will come to a set of stop lights, go straight thru the stop lights to North 2nd Street. Can anyone attend the auction? Yes! The auctions are free and open to the public.
How many auctions per year are held? The U.S. Marshals usually have two auctions per year.
How do I know that these are legitimate auctions? You may check the U.S. Marshal's website to verify we are a contractor for the state of Minnesota.
Can I get a good deal at these auctions? If you are in the market to buy cars we are selling it is worth coming to the auction.
Is there a minimum bid? The government reserves the right to accept or reject the highest offer at the auction.
How can I be notified of upcoming auctions? You may sign up for email notifications or check the website.
Can I inspect/preview the cars? Yes, there are two times you may inspect the cars. The first inspection is the day before the auction, you can visually inspect the cars from 9:00AM - 3:30PM. The cars will be started once at 4:00PM. The second inspection is two hours prior to the auction, at this time the cars will be started right before being auctioned.
What fees are associated with my winning bid amount? None, just the cost of your purchase and the taxes you pay when you register the car at the DMV. NO BUYERS PREMIUM!
How long does the auction usually last? Most auctions will last less than an hour.
What is a salvage title? A branded title means the title is branded with something, ie. salvage title, flood title, etc. You should ask your insurance company about branded title and what type of coverage they will provide on that type of title, if you give them the vin #, they can tell you what was branded on the title.
Is an auction list available? A printed auction list will be available at the preview and the day of the sale. All customers on our auction email will be sent a list.
How do I get vin numbers for the vehicles going up for auction? Please email for a list of vin numbers. firstname.lastname@example.org
What do I need to do to register for the auction? There is no auction registration. If you are the winning bidder of an item we will ask for your valid drivers license.
